Thanks!

Two quick things:

1 - For the people who posted their stories about an important event in their lives, thanks very much for sharing! I really enjoyed reading them, and I encourage you to check out your classmates' stories.

2 - Tomorrow will be our last class, so for everyone who's finishing: best of luck, and keep in touch. If you'll be continuing in the Advanced Program, there's a good chance we may have a class together again, so I'll hope to see you all again. If I can ever be of help, please tell me!

Speaking of that, I decided to start a separate, language-learning blog where I can make lists of links, tips, and other ideas related to learning English, Spanish, German, and whatever else. It's still in construction, but please feel free to check it out here:

Thanks again, and take care!

Reminder: Final Homework Assignment

Remember that your final blog post should be based on exercise 6 on page 116 of your textbook. You should also comment on your two group partners' blogs. Please do this by Friday evening so I can check it before our final class on Saturday.

Here is a summary of the assignment:

-Write a short autobiographical piece about an event that was particularly important to you in your life. It should be an event that actually happened, and one that you remember well. Concentrate on one event, and try to highlight particular sounds, smells, or other sensations. Write around 200 words.

Remember that page 116 has three examples that you can hopefully draw inspiration from.

I see that many of you have completed the assignment, so good work!
See you Saturday!

Homework Reminder

Remember that your homework for this week is to refine your research about an urban legend, supernatural experience, or strange event. You'll need to give a short (around 5 minutes) presentation about your story this coming Saturday.

Also, your blog homework is to write --in your own words-- a short profile of a character from the movie The Goonies. Why did you choose that particular character, what is he or she like, what happens to him or her in the movie, do you like him/her... you can mention any or all of those things, or more (more is better, as long as it's your writing and your thoughts).

That's it for now. Take care, and have a good week. See you Saturday!

TOEIC Links

Hi Everyone!

I'm going to list some links to TOEIC practice sites that may or may not be useful for you. I got most of them from Lucy, who has more experience with this sort of thing.

In any case, if you think some of them are good or bad, feel free to leave comments here to help your classmates.

Good luck!
